Delirium by Lauren Oliver Review

Delirium is a book about a dystopian society set in the future where people have been brainwashed into believing that love is a disease which everyone must be cured of. The protagonist Lena believes the same thing until...she falls in love.
"Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing."

I did quite a lot of research of this book before i read this book and heard many good things about it so, i had a lot high expectations going into it. At first i was quite annoyed about how everyone was brainwashed in this society, being a strong believer in love myself, i found it hard to get my head around.
However, as i went further into the book i really started to understand why people would think that. The writer does an AMAZING job of really making us really feel what Lena is going through as she questions what she had been bought up to believe.

I really liked the relationship Lena had with Grace and Hana. It felt very real and uplifting in a world of such cruelty. Lena as a character progressed and grew more and more as she began to determine her feeling towards Alex. It was really interesting to read about Alex and Lena's love story. Forbidden love is always a page  turner!

Overall, the book really satisfied me after many high hopes. The ending left me dumbstruck and really wanting more. There will be no doubt that i will be reading the rest of the series which includes Pandemonium and Requiem. Lauren Oliver has a beautiful way of writing as i have seen in her other book Before i fall and i'm excited to see more.

If your someone who loves dystopian novels , forbidden love and a lot of action then this is definitely the book for you.
